Instructor training

The club has received some funding from Longford Sports Partnership for instructor training. Have a look at the following and see if its something that you might be interested in.
Applying to attend a Training Course
Before applying to attend a Level 2 Kayak Instructor Training Course, a candidate must:
1. Hold the Level 3 Kayak Skills Award.
2. Be registered as a member with the Canoeing Ireland.
3. Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
4. Have unrestricted access to a fully equipped kayak, personal equipment, and additional equipment as listed for a Level 2 Kayak Instructor Assessment.
5. Submitted your Garda vetting form.
If you are still a junior (under 18) you can still do the training, but you only be awarded a level 1 instructor qualification.
We can run level 3 assessments for anyone who wants to attend, membership and Garda vetting is only some extra paperwork.
The next course is on 12/01/2018 and will be held in Wicklow and lasts for two days.
Depending on the number of members who apply, the club will be a position to either party or fully fund the cost of the course which is €175 per head.
You can find the course content on the Canoeing Ireland website. Please let Bob know if you are interested in attending or you need any more information.
